Miley’s got style!

I saw this article, talking about Miley’s style, and thought I would post it here.

“I never took the time to really look at Miley Cyrus’ fashion, let alone respect it. Though I am bit older than her, I tend to look for style inspiration from stars near my own age, such as Anne Hathaway and Reese Witherspoon.

But since her racy photo spread in Vanity Fair by Annie Leibovitz last year and her constant award show appearances where she shines in the fashion category, I have been noticing the star more and more — and I like what I see. Maybe her voice is a little raspy — especially when she attempts those high notes — but her style is anything but rough.

I know she’s young and is trying to find her personal style, but it seems she has already found it. From the way she dresses to go jogging to how she wears her hair down almost all the time, I would say she has already come into her own, even if she still has a whole lot of growing to do.

Right on target
One good thing about Cyrus is she doesn’t try to look older than she is, which is good for her career. She is right on target with her talent and style. Some of the pieces she wears remind me of things Kristin Cavallari and Rachel Bilson would wear. I love how Cyrus isn’t afraid to mix and match pieces and patterns, either. By looking at her style, it’s evident she flips through style magazines or roams around Saks looking for the newest and latest pieces to help her stand out among her Disney star friends. Nothing about Cyrus says childish or inexperienced.

Walmart line
Take a look at her clothing line with Max Azria for Walmart. The pieces she created are great — the London tees, the boxy blazer, slim-fitted jeans, her take on the sexy bomber jacket, her vests and leggings. And though the line is targeted toward teens, it appeals to every age group.

While I have purchased the bomber jacket and a tee, my mother added the sheer black ruffle blouse to her closet.

The collection is full of versatile, fun and stylish pieces that mimic her own day-to-day style choices.

I like that she tries more trends and at times creates her own. Take her “running errands” outfit from January for example. The star wore a long, loose gray tee with a pair of destroyed bleach-splattered jeans by Siwy and a gray hobo with tall black boots that had silver embellishment. She looked as though she had just gotten up and thrown it together. The look took me back to some of the things I have seen Kate Moss wear to rock shows or Kate Beckinsale while shopping in Los Angeles. This just means Cyrus’ style choices are classic and all-around chic.

Ankle biker boots
Another example of classic chic would be when Cyrus vacationed in Paris in a leopard-print coat from Topshop. Adorned with her black ankle biker boots, her beloved black and white zig-zag messenger bag and white jeans, the star looked liked a diva with shopping bags up to her elbows and her hair blowing in the cold air.

She knows how to pull off the pieces she wears, too. Don’t you just hate when you see someone in something they clearly should not be wearing?

Cyrus doesn’t have to worry about that. The way she keeps true to her Nashville roots with dresses and cowboy boots or ripped skinny jeans with boots and how she layers her jewelry is fun and daring.
She may be young, but she knows style.”
